The 10-HDA team focuses on developing new efficient and environmentally friendly royal pulp acid production routes, dedicated to the production of 10-HDA. 10-hydroxy-2-decenic acid (10-HDA) is a monounsaturated fatty acid containing hydroxyl, and research shows that it has antioxidant, anti-tumor and strong antibacterial effect on prokaryotes and other important physiological functions, with wide application prospects. But currently 10-HDA is only contained in royal jelly, the supply is difficult to meet the demand.
The 10-HDA production technology of this project has two major advantages: one is the advantage of strains—the production strain (YED1116) is independently developed and protected by 10 invention patents (see Annex 1 for details), and the production efficiency is high, up to 75%; the second is technological advantages—the country's first microbial fermentation method to produce royal jelly acid, which is green and pollution-free, and can replace highly polluting chemical synthesis methods and inefficient physical extraction method.
The production cost of 10-HDA is low, the production strains and processes used are developed by the State Key Laboratory of Biobased Material and Green Papermaking. A total of 4 papers have been published (received), of which 2 SCI papers have been published (see Annex II for details), and have applied for relevant national invention patents.
